Looking at Fireplace Tools
If you have a fireplace, chances are that you also have fireplace tools. A poker for poking
at the wood that is already burning, a shovel to help clean-up the ashes after you have used the fireplace, a broom to help clean up even more,
especially around the fireplace, and maybe even tongs to help you place the wood in the already burning fire without getting close enough to burn
yourself. Even if you already have these things, are they really what you want, and more importantly, are they still in good shape?
The reason that this question is asked is that everything from the screen used in from of the fire to the tools used for the fireplace should
match the overall décor of the room or rooms that you have fireplaces in. Sometimes people just stay content with the fireplace accessories
that came with the house, even if it isn’t a complete set and they don’t really fit in with the room. It is however, possible to fix this. You
can get all the matching accessories tools you need as well as a few extra things that may make your life easier or safer.
Stores like Lowes and Home Depot carry complete sets and a variety of accessories you may not have thought of. Don't forget about
shopping online. Fireplace tools tend to come in matching set that pretty much always include a base that holds the tools. You basically
just have to look and decide on what type and coloring you like best, whether it be black, chrome, brass or painted. There is such a wide
variety that it may take some time for you to find the fireplace tools that just beg you to get them, but they are there and you can find
them. You may even be able to find them at a relatively inexpensive price online.
Then there comes the other options that can join the fireplace tool set. There are only a few of these, and you may not even think of them as
other options, you may think of them as part of the fireplace tools to begin with, but they are there. First of all, this includes the screens.
It is always a good idea to include a screen with your fireplace tools so that you can screen of the area where it is fire safe. This way you
don’t have embers and sparks flying onto your rugs or into an area where you might step on them or they might land on somebody and burn them.
This also includes the fireplace log rack. Wouldn’t it be nice to have an option that will not only help to keep you organized, but will also
help to keep you from constantly having to go outside and grabbing more wood for your fire? For both of these options you have choice like how
you want the screen to open, the size of both o them, and about how much wood you want to be able to keep indoors at any one time.
